STEM-to-STEAM: It's All in the Garden

Our Story

My late husband, Charles Madison Nabrit, developed a mission statement when we began homeschooling our sons (pictured left) in 1991, namely, to holistically nurture the spiritual, intellectual, and physical components of each.
He believed becoming a contributor rather than a consumer of beloved community (and academic achievement!) would be the inevitable outcome. Decades later he has been proven right and STEM-to-STEAM: It's All in the Garden builds off that model.
We cannot reproduce years of spiritual training, athletics through diverse Columbus Parks and Rec Centers, international travel, art school, music lessons, stints with BalletMet, Opera Columbus and weeks at Engineering Camp, Oceanography Camp, and Space Camp...
But since 2014, we have grown from free Saturday classes led by Charles and Damon ("Composting & Organic Chemistry in the Garden"; "Vermiculture: Worms are Wonderful", "Integrative Pest Management: What Can You Do with Vinegar and Cayenne Pepper?"; "Water Conservation: Let's Build Ollas") to a full, one-week day camp with students from OSU as paid counselors. I know "CMadison" would be pleased!
